China's biggest plastics & rubber show celebrates 25th edition
The past three decades saw China's reforms and open-door policy benefiting various types of businesses. This holds true for its important pillar industries -- such as the plastics and rubber industry -- which has continuously maintained high-speed development. Its average annual growth rate is over 10%, which is higher than the total growth rate of the national economy.
The 25th edition of CHINAPLAS will take place this year and even in the wake of the many ups and downs in Asia and the challenges that China has to face, the show has achieved an important position as the ideal platform for foreign companies to penetrate China's huge market and for Chinese enterprises to learn global trends in the industries covered. From a small show, the event has become a must-go exhibition flocked by buyers from different industries to obtain the latest industry information and purchase the most advanced plastics and rubber machines and raw materials.
CHINAPLAS 2011 is scheduled to take place from 17 – 20 May 2011 at Asia's largest exhibition hall – China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, PR China. The scale of the latest edition has grown with a total exhibition area of more than 160,000 sq.m. to accommodate over 2,200 well-known enterprises from 35 countries and regions – with pavilions from 11 countries and regions from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, United States, China, Taiwan and India. More than 1,900 sets of machines and chemicals & raw materials will be on display.
Special concurrent events will also be held to celebrate the 25th edition. The organiser will launch a "We Build and We Share - CHINAPLAS 25th Edition Celebration eMagazine." The content will include the milestone of CHINAPLAS in the past years, the photos capturing the precious moment at each edition of CHINAPLAS and the congratulation messages from major exhibitors and associations, etc.
"Green Plastics . Our Goal . Our Future"
Ecological environmental protection is the common topic that the world is currently facing. In recent years, the plastics and rubber industries and all other sectors have been adopting production methods featuring energy-saving, low carbon and recycling to promote the sustainable development of the economy, in order to achieve the goals of establishing a resources minimization and eco-friendly society.
CHINAPLAS 2011 will feature concurrent events, "Beating Record by Recycling Bottles" and "Eco-friendly Plastics Conference"which will focus on three major global market concerns of green manufacturing, namely "bio-plastics and degradable plastics", "recycling and carbon emission reduction" and "energy saving". These focuses have fully demonstrated the major direction of China's 12th five-year plan's policies on the green, emission reduction and energy saving.
Inheriting the vision "Green Plastics . Our Goal . Our Future" from CHINAPLAS 2010, the organiser will hold an unprecedented green event, making use of thousands of used plastic bottles to create a plastic installation, with an objective to arouse the environmental awareness of more than 2,200 exhibitors, over 80,000 visitors and overseas and China media at the on-site fairground. This plastic installation will be made of over 3,000 used plastic bottles and placed in the fairground during the show period to let visitors experience the power of recycling. With an attempt to break the Guinness World Record, the set up of this plastic installation will show the importance of recycling in promoting the sustainable development of the plastics and rubber industries. This masterpiece of art will be designed by Mr. Wing Lee, a well-known product designer in Hong Kong who has designed the in-flight economy class tableware for Cathay Pacific Airways and won the HKDA Asia Design Silver Awards in 2009.
Another concurrent event, "Eco-friendly Plastics Conference" will be held on 18-19 May. Speakers have been invited from associations, universities and other members of the private sector. They will share their latest technologies, research findings, experiences and the green market development at the conference. The two-day conference will be held in three sessions. Topics are "The Challenge of Sustainability and the Applications of Bio-plastics and Degradable Plastics", "Reduce Carbon Emission with Plastics Recycling Technology" and "Achieve Energy Efficiency with Energy Saving Plastics Technology". The topics will be discussed in different perspectives. Besides the macro view of the above topics, focusing on their environment market trend and standards of various countries, the conference will also share experience on research and technology development by manufacturers, and application by users.
